Ceramics Company Records Increase in Revenue | Midlands Manufacturing News



First-half sales nearly doubled at a Stoke-on-Trent-based ceramics maker, according to new results.

In its interim results for the six months to June 30, 2022, Churchill China reported revenue of £41.4 million, compared to £23.9 million in the first half of 2021.

Profit before exceptional items and tax rose to £3.4 million from £900,000.

Chairman Alan McWalter said, “We are pleased to report a strong first half revenue and earnings performance and are well positioned to continue to grow in line with our established strategy.

A statement to the London Stock Exchange added: “We continue to benefit from strong levels of demand. Our backlog is the strongest we have ever seen and reflects Churchill’s reputation for delivering an innovative, technically advanced product and market leading levels of service.

“We expect revenues to grow for the foreseeable future despite increasing headwinds in the broader economy. The ability to perform well in a challenging business environment confirms the strength of the position, the Churchill’s strategy and operations in the marketplace and underscores the advantage of our long-term approach to business.”
